A category of sensor information in the Command model.

Range Information indicates the distance to target. This is obtained by measuring the time it takes for a sensor signal to travel to the target and return.

Sensor capability has evolved over time. More sophisticated engineering and processing of sensors has increased the type of information that can be obtained; older sensors are less capable.

Command distinguishes the sensor information types into:

Space Search - ABM
Air Search
Surface Search
Mine & Obstacle Search
Periscope Search
Submarine Search
Land Search - Fixed Facility
Land Search - Mobile Unit
Altitude Information
Range Information
Heading Information
Speed Information
