Targeting Vectors

Datablocks

Datablocks are a display on the current status of a unit - its name, its heading and speed, among other things. You can display them for the currently selected unit, for all units, or for no units.

Datalinks

Datalinks between newer weapons and their launching platforms are crucial for weapon accuracy. You can display datalinks for the currently selected unit only, for all units, or no units.

Contact Emissions

Contact Emissions is your way of tracking SIGINT (Signals Intelligence). When a unit picks up an emission from another unit which you do not control, the data is tracked, and can be displayed on the map. You can display Contact Emissions for the currently selected contact, for all contacts, or for none.

Additionally, you can select a contact and click on the Contact Emissions button in the side panel to see a list of all emissions from that contact - which you can use to attempt your own identification on that contact.

Misc. Options

This block contains the following options:

  • Map Lat/Lon Grid
  • Relief Layer
  • Borders + Coastlines
  • Custom Layers

These final options are toggle options - you can click them once to turn them on (and display a checkbox next to their names) and click them again to turn them off (and remove the checkbox).

Map Lat/Lon Grid

This option toggles the display of a variable resolution, indexed, latitude and longitude grid. Highly useful for finding specific coordinates.

Relief Layer

This option toggles the display of the relief layer - a default custom layer which displays altitude by color change - useful for littoral combat as well as planning ingress and egress for strikes.

Borders + Coastlines

This option toggles the display of the Borders and Coastlines feature - a yellow overlay which shows, borders and coastlines.

Custom Layers

This option lets you toggle on and off Custom Layers.
