Sponsored by the former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, USS McCAMPBELL is the seventh Flight IIA ARLEIGH BURKE-class guided missile destroyer and the first ship in the Navy named after Captain David McCampbell. In June 2007, the McCAMPBELL shifted her homeport from San Diego, Calif., to Yokosuka, Japan, where she relieved the USS GARY (FFG 51).
